Electra Roof Garden

Sooo yea never again đ
Yesterday I had lunch at Electra Roof Garden in Athens. Itâs one of those rooftop spots that gets a lot of buzz, supposedly for the views, but honestly⊠itâs not giving what they said it was supposed to give. Yes, you can see the Acropolis, but itâs a side view at best. If there were a âTop 100 Rooftop Views in Greeceâ list, this one would probably slide in at #99. Letâs not lie.

First red flag: they didnât even want to seat me outside. The waiter said it was âtoo hot.â Like⊠sir, I want to sit outside. I like the heat. But letâs be real, it felt more like the staff didnât want to be bothered with serving on the patio. I had to insist. Bad energy from the jump.
Now letâs talk about this ridiculous food situation.

Greek Salad â âŹ20
Easily the worst Greek salad Iâve had since arriving in Greece and Iâve been here for a minute. I told them no peppers. It came with peppers. The cucumbers were so thinly sliced I almost missed them. The tomatoes were cut into random baby chunks. And instead of a beautiful slab of feta like Iâve had everywhere else, they gave me a feta purĂ©e, like some whipped mayonnaise situation. Absolutely not.

Chicken Fillet â âŹ30
Flavorless. Dry. Rolled up like it was trying to be something fancy, sitting on a sweet potato purée that had no seasoning. It looked cute on the plate, but it tasted like nothing.
Sparkling Water â âŹ6
Self-explanatory. Not even chilled properly.
Glass of White Wine (ChĂąteau Lazaridi) â âŹ12
The best thing I had, and even thatâs saying a lot. Because wine is usually âŹ4â5 max in Greece. So âŹ12 for a basic pour? Okay.
Final bill: âŹ68
Hereâs the kicker: they added two different taxes, a 13% food tax and a 24% liquor tax. This is the only restaurant in Greece that has done that to me so far. Even in Mykonos. Even at the bougiest spots. Nobody adds taxes like that here.
đž Yes, Iâve attached the receipt below. Because I donât need to exaggerate. The proof is printed.

And for what? A bland salad, some dry chicken, and a view you could get at a café across the street for half the price.
Electra Roof Garden is for tourists who donât know better. Itâs all aesthetic, no soul. If you want a rooftop drink and a photo, sure. But if youâre actually hungry or expecting good service, donât do it. The staff acted like I was a burden, the food was subpar, and the prices were robbery.
Honestly, I might dispute the charge. Because that lunch felt like a scam with a side of skyline.
