Electra Roof Garden

Sooo yea never again š
Yesterday I had lunch at Electra Roof Garden in Athens. Itās one of those rooftop spots that gets a lot of buzz, supposedly for the views, but honestly⦠itās not giving what they said it was supposed to give. Yes, you can see the Acropolis, but itās a side view at best. If there were a āTop 100 Rooftop Views in Greeceā list, this one would probably slide in at #99. Letās not lie.

First red flag: they didnāt even want to seat me outside. The waiter said it was ātoo hot.ā Like⦠sir, I want to sit outside. I like the heat. But letās be real, it felt more like the staff didnāt want to be bothered with serving on the patio. I had to insist. Bad energy from the jump.
Now letās talk about this ridiculous food situation.

Greek Salad ā ā¬20
Easily the worst Greek salad Iāve had since arriving in Greece and Iāve been here for a minute. I told them no peppers. It came with peppers. The cucumbers were so thinly sliced I almost missed them. The tomatoes were cut into random baby chunks. And instead of a beautiful slab of feta like Iāve had everywhere else, they gave me a feta purĆ©e, like some whipped mayonnaise situation. Absolutely not.

Chicken Fillet ā ā¬30
Flavorless. Dry. Rolled up like it was trying to be something fancy, sitting on a sweet potato purƩe that had no seasoning. It looked cute on the plate, but it tasted like nothing.
Sparkling Water ā ā¬6
Self-explanatory. Not even chilled properly.
Glass of White Wine (ChĆ¢teau Lazaridi) ā ā¬12
The best thing I had, and even thatās saying a lot. Because wine is usually ā¬4ā5 max in Greece. So ā¬12 for a basic pour? Okay.
Final bill: ā¬68
Hereās the kicker: they added two different taxes, a 13% food tax and a 24% liquor tax. This is the only restaurant in Greece that has done that to me so far. Even in Mykonos. Even at the bougiest spots. Nobody adds taxes like that here.
šø Yes, Iāve attached the receipt below. Because I donāt need to exaggerate. The proof is printed.

And for what? A bland salad, some dry chicken, and a view you could get at a cafƩ across the street for half the price.
Electra Roof Garden is for tourists who donāt know better. Itās all aesthetic, no soul. If you want a rooftop drink and a photo, sure. But if youāre actually hungry or expecting good service, donāt do it. The staff acted like I was a burden, the food was subpar, and the prices were robbery.
Honestly, I might dispute the charge. Because that lunch felt like a scam with a side of skyline.
