Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort: A Gorgeous Beach, Great Service… But Not My Vibe

Hey y’all 👋🏽
So I stayed at Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, and since y’all know I travel often and I don’t gatekeep — here’s my honest review.
Let’s start with the good, because there is good.

🌴 The Location: 10/10
The location is beautiful. Like, for real beautiful. The resort sits on its own private beach, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that beach is the best part of the whole stay. The water was clear, the sand was soft, it wasn’t crowded, and I could’ve spent all day right there doing absolutely nothing.
It’s also close to Patong — maybe 10 minutes by car — which is nice if you want to go out for dinner, shopping, or nightlife. So you get peace and quiet at the hotel, but still have access to the fun when you want it.
💁🏽♀️ The Service: Top Tier
The staff? Amazing. Everyone I interacted with was polite, helpful, and genuinely kind. The hospitality felt very personal — not forced. I never felt ignored, rushed, or uncomfortable. From check-in to room service, they took care of me. That part gave luxury.
I also felt safe the entire time. And as a woman who often travels alone or on trips where I keep my own space, that’s really important to me.
🍽 The Food: Meh, But You'll Eat
Let’s talk food. I had a few meals on the property, and while nothing was nasty, nothing blew me away either. It was decent. You’ll be full, but don’t expect gourmet. If you’re a foodie or you just like variety, you’ll definitely want to head into Patong for better options. There’s a lot of great food in the area that isn’t inside the resort.
Room service was okay. Breakfast was solid. I didn’t try all the restaurants on-site, but I also didn’t feel the need to after a few average bites.
🧊 The Facilities: We Gotta Talk
The hotel is older. And I mean that in the nicest way — but it is what it is. It’s clean and it’s taken care of, but it’s giving renovation needed. The rooms are fine, the pool is nice, but don’t expect sleek, modern aesthetics. It’s more traditional.
Here’s what annoyed me: there’s only one ice machine and it’s on the second floor. So if you're on another floor — good luck. Why do I have to take an elevator for ice? That’s crazy. I also found the Wi-Fi to be hit or miss, depending on where I was on the property.
And another thing? No pool bar. Which... why?? You're on a tropical island, by the water, and there's nowhere to grab a drink and chill at the pool? That was a big miss for me.
🌙 Nighttime Vibe: Real Quiet
This is not a turn-up hotel. It’s peaceful, almost too peaceful. After 11 PM, it’s silent. There’s nothing going on at the pool, no music, no drinks, no energy. If you’re just looking to rest, you’ll love it. But if you’re hoping to relax during the day and be social at night? This ain’t that.
💸 Pricing & Charges
Heads up: you will pay extra for everything. The service fees and charges can add up quick, especially if you’re eating on property or booking through the resort. It’s not cheap, and while I don’t mind spending money for comfort, I want to feel like it’s worth it. Some things felt overpriced for what they were.
💬 Final Thoughts
Would I stay here again? Probably not. The beach and the service were both beautiful, and I’m glad I experienced it — but it’s just not my vibe overall. I like a little more luxury, a little more energy, and a lot more convenience.
If you're traveling with family or just want a low-key, no-stress place to lay out by the beach and relax early? This might be perfect for you. But if you’re anything like me — someone who likes to mix chill with fun, rest with a little razzle — this resort might leave you wanting more.
Check out my vlog on YouTube @EatMahKandy to see how it looked. I filmed the room, the beach, some food, and the overall vibe.
As always, travel smart. Travel soft. And don’t be afraid to book the peace.
